Pillow Talk

Pillow Talk

Decorative throw pillows are a great way to create a fresh new look in any room. Just by adding a simple pop of color to your couch, bed and chairs can change the mood of a room. I am a big fan of patterned throw pillows. If I had somewhere to store them all, I would change mine out monthly.
So go ahead, mix and match and change up the style in your home.
These are some of my favorites.

I just love how these pillows were styled in the two living room photos below. These are both perfect examples of how to add some character to a room by mixing patterns.

Weekend Recap // The Lowcountry

I had such a great weekend spending time with my family back home. Whit and I made the short drive to my parents house on Friday after work. It was nice to not have anywhere to be and just relax. And I'm not going to lie, it was also nice to have someone else cook for us too. My dad had this delicious lowcountry boil waiting on when we arrived that evening.

We stopped by for some lunch in town at my mom's deli on Saturday afternoon. The pimento cheese sandwich with strawberry preserves is a must!

We also visited Lucky Duck Distillery, the local moonshine shop owned by my brother. He had just stocked the shelves.

It's always a pleasant change going from the busy city of Charleston to the quite country where you're surrounded by nothing but fields and dirt roads. Once the weather cleared up later that afternoon, Whit and I were able to take the four-wheeler out to explore.

It wasn't long until the dark clouds started rolling in again.

We got a little wet, but it was totally worth it when this huge rainbow appeared.

Most of our time was spent outdoors which was fine by me since we finally had some warmer weather. Sunday was absolutely beautiful so mom and I took advantage and went kayaking. Once I got past the panic of seeing an alligator it was actually enjoyable. Here are a few scenes from the river.

Kayaking down this gorgeous river with my mom was worth every bit of soreness that I now feel in my arms!

News Feed Friday

http://raleighhotel.com/

I wouldn't mind spending a week or two lounging around this gorgeous pool at The Raleigh Hotel in Miami, FL. I love the black and white stripe umbrellas.

I'm obsessed with this gorgeous footed stool.

This pasta dish from Cooking Classy blog sounds so delicious.

Looking for the perfect summer shift dress, this one fits the bill.

Can't wait to check out the new French patisserie coming to Charleston!

These cats may be demanding, but it sure is cute.

An at home gel manicure starter kit, is it worth the investment?

 So true!

Have a great weekend!!

"Thank You"

Thanks, Gracias, Merci…there are many ways to say thank you but nothing beats a good old fashioned hand written card. Stationary has been on my brain lately due to a baby shower that I am in the process of planning. Although my research has been specifically for invitations, I found myself sidetracked by some of the beautiful thank you cards I came across. I’m a sucker for pretty stationery.
Here are a few of my favorites.

Going Green

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner with many celebrations beginning this weekend. And as we all know, this holiday is synonymous with the color green.  Instead of searching for the perfect outfit to avoid the cliché pinch, keep it simple with these fun and vibrant accessories.
