I’m switching things up a bit today and sharing some things that
have been on my mind. I’m often asked what made me want to start blogging. So, I
thought I would share with you why I started this little blog and my thoughts
behind it, so here goes.
I’m not a professional food blogger who whips up gourmet
cuisine. I’m also not a famous fashion blogger known for stylish posts and
stunning photos. Nor am I a journalist, writing magazine-worthy columns. I’m
just someone who enjoys sharing my love of food through simple recipes;
fashion, through curated lists of pretty things I discover; décor, through
inspiration and acquisitions; and last but not least, travels, whether it’s
thousands of miles away or to a restaurant down the road. I’m someone who loves
to learn about new things, and I hope that I can share something new with you.
I started this blog because I enjoy sharing life’s simple pleasures.
Experiencing life with those who matter most and documenting it for personal
remembrance, while connecting with others in the blogging world, is my goal.
I spent weeks trying to come up with a name for my blog and
narrow down exactly what the one thing was that I wanted to focus on. I soon
realized that every post wasn’t going to be just about food or just about
fashion. I didn’t want to limit myself to just one topic, but instead set the
stage for a wide array of interests. A Polished Palate was created to share my
experiences on living a tasteful life, not just through food, but life in
general. So thank you to my new readers for following along, and to those who
have been there from the beginning. I look forward to continuing the journey!

I'm glad you started! Even though we've never met, I'm sure we have a ton of friends in common--right?!-- so it's still fun to see what's going on in Charleston through your point of view. I adore your style and you always have great food choices. Keep on blogging, girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet words! It's always nice to hear that someone out there is reading and enjoying the blog.I also enjoy keeping up with yours. And you're probably right, I'm sure we do have a lot of the same friends in common. If you ever make it back to Charleston, we will definitely have to meet in person!
ReplyDeleteYou do! Me! Christina and I went to high school together! :)
