Trip Planning| And Our Next Stop Is.....

ITALY!!! It still hasn't really sunk in yet, but we are planning a trip along the Amalfi Coast and I couldn't be more excited!

Every year my husband and I plan a getaway in celebration of our wedding anniversary in October. The travel bug started when we made the trip to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We had such an amazing time that it only seemed fitting to continue celebrating our anniversaries in places that have been on our bucket list. You can read more about our first, second and third anniversary trips by following the links. Our two year anniversary trip was a big one so we decided to not go so far last year. This year we decided it was time for another big one and we won't be taking the trip alone.  We are so excited to be traveling with some of our best friends, Melissa and Jay! We recently traveled with them to New Orleans and can't wait for our next adventure.

Right now our rough agenda includes stops in Positano, Ravello, Capri and Tuscany. So, please send all the travel tips, advice, places to eat, tour, visit, do, see, you name it! I love hearing firsthand from others who have visited! I'm welcoming any and all information I can get. Grazie!!

  1. We did different places in Italy, but that country is so beautiful. Eat all the pasta, gelato, bread and drink all the wine.

Amalfi coast is by far one of the places in Italy that I can't stop thinking about. I lived in Italy for one year so had the chance to visit a good chuck of it. Positano is magical in every way possible, if you don't get carsick very easily and want a scenic route, I would suggest taking the bus to Positano. Make sure to go down to the beach and dip your toes in the cool waters of the Mediterranean. Drink limoncello, eat caprese salad. Tuscany is known for their red wine, boar dishes, and white bean aperitivos. Capri is small and more upsale, a bit more on the pricey side but still an amazing time. have fun!

  3. If you go to Positano - stay at La Fenice!! It is an amazing bed and breakfast and they even have their own private beach, with kayaks too. As well as a pool. Their breakfast and lunch is amazing (especially their lunch so stay for it one day). My husband and I stayed there when we were in Positano for a week. Loved it, it made the busy Positano seem more quiet and slow. I also recommend walking the path of the Gods, it was my favorite day of our trip. We walked with the guide Zia Lucy who is easy to google. It was a whole morning activity (8-2 maybe) and I don't know if I could have done it without a guide (just bc it was hard to follow at times - hiking wise beginners can do it, I never hike and it was fine). It was so goregeous.

I didn't care too much for Capri, it was very crowded, touristy. But I did love the boat ride to Capri and being able to stop and swim along the way. If you guys decided not to do Capri then definitely do a boat ride along the coast one day.

We drove in Italy, but it made my husband pretty nervous and we stayed parked the whole week in Positano (too small to drive around anyways). But we drove because we flew in and out of Naples. If you're going in and out of Naples too I may have some more tips for you.

I also vote for beds and breakfasts over air bnb any day, but that may be a personal opinion sort of thing.
